A new list highlights the major technology companies providing critical systems to children's hospitals across the country. The roster includes both large enterprise vendors and smaller, specialized firms focused exclusively on pediatric care.
Epic Systems earns a spot with its comprehensive enterprise inpatient electronic health record and related platforms. The company's software is widely used in large academic medical centers and standalone children's hospitals, offering modules for everything from clinical documentation to revenue cycle management.
Also on the list is PCC, known formally as Physician's Computer Company. Unlike Epic, PCC focuses specifically on the pediatric outpatient market. It supplies pediatric-specific ambulatory EHR and practice-management products and services, tailoring its tools for well-child visits, immunizations, growth charting, and other needs unique to treating children.
Other vendors named include Cerner, now part of Oracle Health, which provides its Millennium platform to several pediatric institutions. Allscripts and its Sunrise platform also appear, along with Meditech, which serves smaller community hospitals with pediatric units.
The list also features niche players like Raintree Systems, which offers therapy-specific EHR software for pediatric rehabilitation and therapy practices. AdvancedMD and Kareo round out the group, providing cloud-based solutions for smaller pediatric clinics and independent practices.
These vendors collectively power the clinical, operational, and financial workflows of children's hospitals across the United States, from major urban centers to rural pediatric clinics.
