AFS has acquired Debticate, a move that adds loan syndication and sales workflow technology to its commercial loan servicing and lifecycle management platform. The companies did not disclose the financial terms of the deal.
The acquisition is aimed at giving lenders a single system for handling the full life of a commercial loan, from origination through servicing and eventual sale. Syndicated lending involves multiple banks or investors sharing a large loan, and it requires careful tracking of ownership stakes, payments, and reporting duties. By folding Debticate's tools into its existing platform, AFS hopes to remove the need for lenders to juggle separate systems for servicing and syndication.
Debticate's software focuses on the sales and trading side of syndicated loans, helping institutions manage allocations, trade settlements, and investor communications. Combining that with AFS's servicing backbone could streamline operations for banks that both hold and trade pieces of the same credit.
The deal reflects a broader push among financial technology providers to cover more of the commercial lending process in one place. Banks have long relied on fragmented tools, and vendors are racing to offer end-to-end coverage. AFS said the integration will let clients manage syndication activity alongside the rest of their loan portfolios, reducing manual work and the risk of errors that come with moving data between disconnected platforms.
