San Leandro appoints new chief technology officer

The City of San Leandro has selected Alicia Hernandez to serve as its next chief technology officer, a move announced by City Manager Janelle T. Cameron. Hernandez brings more than two decades of experience managing large-scale technology projects and digital infrastructure. She most recently held the role of enterprise systems manager for the City of Fremont, where she oversaw network operations, cybersecurity protocols, and the integration of new software platforms across city departments.

In her new position, Hernandez will be responsible for guiding San Leandro's technology strategy, including modernizing internal systems, improving digital services for residents, and strengthening data security. City Manager Cameron praised Hernandez for her track record of leading complex initiatives and her deep understanding of municipal technology needs.

Hernandez is expected to start her role in the coming weeks. She replaces the previous chief technology officer, who left the position earlier this year. City officials say her experience in Fremont, a similarly sized Bay Area city, will help her transition quickly and address ongoing tech upgrades in San Leandro.
