EVELETH-Dustin Miller's relationship with computers started in 1999, when he was a high school senior. What began as a personal interest quickly grew into a career built on helping others navigate the digital world. Today, Miller owns Tech Bytes, a computer repair and technology services company based in Eveleth.
Miller says his approach has always been about more than just fixing hardware or troubleshooting software. He sees technology as a tool that should work for people, not against them. That philosophy drives his daily work, whether he is recovering lost data, setting up a home network, or teaching a senior how to use email.
Over the years, he has watched the industry change dramatically. Devices have become smaller and faster, but the core problems people face often stay the same. Frustration with slow machines, fear of viruses, and confusion about new updates are common concerns. Miller tries to meet each customer where they are, explaining things in plain language without making anyone feel foolish.
His shop has become a local resource for those who do not have the time or confidence to fix their own devices. Miller says the best part of the job is seeing a customer walk out relieved, knowing their computer is working again and they understand what happened.
For Miller, the work is not just a business. It is a continuation of the same curiosity and desire to help that started more than two decades ago.
